CLIFTON FORGE – Glen Allan Curtis, 46, of 3319 Longdale Station Road, Clifton Forge went to be with the Lord Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009 in Buffalo Gap.
Born Oct. 31, 1963 in Clifton Forge, he was a son of Doris Mays Curtis and the late Donald Preston Curtis. He was a devoted husband and father and a member of Lone Star Advent Christian Church. He loved to hunt and ride his four-wheeler and enjoyed being outdoors and farming.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Gabriele McCormick.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Knighton Curtis and their son, Jeremy Allen Curtis of Clifton Forge, his mother, Doris Mays Curtis of Clifton Forge; four brothers, Michael Curtis and wife Roxanna, Jerry Curtis and wife, Kay, Daryl Curtis, and Jeffrey Curtis, all of Clifton Forge; a sister-in-law, Nancy Simmons and husband Eddie of Covington; two brothers-in-law, Robert Knighton and wife Roxanne of New Jersey and Steve McCormick of Covington; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with the Rev. Doug Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Central Advent Christian Church Cemetery, Clifton Forge.
Pallbearers will be Michael Curtis, Jerry Curtis, Justin Curtis, Joe Wood, Grover Nicely and Doug Snead.
The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service from 12 until 2 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home and other times at the residence of Doris Curtis, 4209 Forty-Two Road, Clifton Forge.
The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Lone Star Advent Christian Church Building Fund, 4704 Nicelytown Road, Clifton Forge, Va. 24422.
