Scott named to All-TRD girls soccer team

LOW MOOR – 32 players were selected for the All-Three Rivers District girls’ soccer teams.

There was only one Alleghany player who reached the all-district teams.

Senior Trinity Scott was the lone Cougars to be selected as she was picked to the all-district second team.

On the season AHS finished 0-16 where they finished last in the district at 0-10. For the entire season, the team scored one goal. Scott scored the Cougars only goal of the season during a 6-1 district loss against Carroll County.

Glenvar, who swept the categories for player and coach of the year awards by Guiliana Stanley and coach Kyleigh Drew, went on to win the state championship in a thrilling 1-0 victory over Clarke County which came down to penalty kicks.

FIRST TEAM: Forwards – Ashley Newman (Carroll County), Anna Vecellio, Guiliana Stanley (Glenvar), Kyra Titular (Patrick County), Kendall Carpenter (Radford).

Midfielders – Callie Harris (Carroll County), Campbell Hardin, Davin Tate (Glenvar), Sophia Martin (James River), Lauren Owens (Radford).

Defenders – Karmen Smith (Carroll County), Brooke Smyth, Megan Pomerleau (Glenvar), Konner Myers (James River), Reagan Bryant (Radford).

Goalie – Hollybrook Cline (Radford).

SECOND TEAM – Forwards – Trinity Scott (Alleghany), Avery Steger (Glenvar), Rhaya Kitt (James River), Raeli Moran (Patrick County), Izzy Lytton (Radford).

Midfielders – Annie George, Sawyer Wilson (Glenvar), Kendall Williams, Madi Heath (Patrick County), Kora Epperly (Radford)

Defenders – Bre Shumate (Carroll County), Sophie Childers (Glenvar), Annabelle Peay (James River), Dakota Ashworth (Patrick County) Anna Vinson (Radford).

Goalie – Madie Frackelton (Glenvar).

PLAYER OF THE YEAR – Guiliana Stanley (Glenvar)

COACH OF THE YEAR – Kyleigh Drew (Glenvar)
