Heather Ashley Williams and Gregory Allan Perkins of Covington were united in marriage Saturday, September 5, 2009 at Mallow Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Gary Marshall officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Rocky and Sue Williams of Covington.
The groom is the son of Gordon A. Perkins and Mary G. Perkins, both of Covington.
The church was decorated with a mixture of orange and white flowers placed in the front and back. Silver decorations were placed inside of the windows with orange tea light candles.
There was a white unity candle decorated with white roses and green bows, along with a scripture in the middle and pearl beads. The pews were decorated with large white bows. The aisle runner was white with rose print. In the front of the church, there were two heart-shaped candelabra with tall white candles.
There was a memory vase placed in the front with an orange candle with clear crystal rocks, in memory of the bride’s and groom’s grandparents.
The bride was escorted to the altar and given in marriage by her father.
Carlene Gibson, family of the groom, played the “Bridal Chorus” as the attendants entered and the “Traditional Wedding March” as the bride walked down the aisle.
The bride sang “I’ll Stand by You” by Carrie Underwood. The sons “When I Say I Do” by Clint Black was played during the lighting of the unity candle.
The bride wore a long white heart-shaped satin gown with pearls and sequins. It had a chiffon side drape with beaded lace with a split back skirt and long cathedral train. The back was laced with white ribbon. She also wore a pearl necklace and bracelet.
The bride carried an orange and white bouquet of roses that had baby’s breath and greenery. There was silver and orange lace with white beads and pearls wrapped around the bottom of the bouquet. The wrap was criss-crossed with pinned pearls. She also wore a tiara with pearls and sequins and silver shoes.
Ashley Perkins, sister of the groom, Cheyenne Hubbard and Cortney Walton, friends of the bride, served as bridesmaids. They also carried smaller versions of the bride’s bouquet and wore orange (cantaloupe) dresses and silver shoes.
The mother of the bride wore a white knee-length dress with an orange sweater and necklace and corsage. The grandmother of the bride wore a long white dress with an orange scarf and corsage. The grandmother of the groom wore a white dress and corsage. The grandfather wore a black suit, white shirt and boutonniere.
Serenity Grace Perkins, daughter of the bride and groom, served as a flower girl. She wore a tiara. Other flower girls were Hannah Carroll, cousin of the groom and Toby Webb. All wore long white satin dresses with lace and embroidery with white bows in the back. They carried white flower baskets with orange lace, orange flowers and white rose petals.
Darian Williams, nephew of the bride, served as the ring bearer. He wore a black tuxedo with white shirt and a silver tie and vest along with cufflinks. The ring pillow was white with heart decorations with orange lace and rings. He also wore an orange-tipped white rose boutonniere.
Brendon Carroll, cousin of the groom, escorted the bride and groom’s son Aiden Gregory in a decorated wagon. Both wore black tuxedos with white shirts and black ties and vests.
The father and brother of the bride wore black tuxedos with white shirts with silver ties and vests and cufflinks and boutonnieres.
Marshall Williams, brother of the bride, escorted the mother and grandmother. Alan-Michael Perkins, brother of the groom, escorted the mother and grandmother. He wore a tuxedo with white shirt, orange tie and vest with cufflinks and an orange-tipped white rose boutonniere.
Groomsmen were Benton McCormack, cousin of the groom and Daniel Boone, friend of the groom, and Alan-Michael Perkins, brother of the groom. All wore black tuxedos with white shirts and orange tie and vests with cufflinks. All wore an orange-tipped white rose boutonniere.
Amber Humphreys, cousin of the groom, was guest book attendant.

Melinda Carroll, aunt of the groom, served as wedding coordinator.
Dean Jenkins of If It’s Paper was the wedding planner.
A reception was held at the Covington Firehouse.
The bridal table was covered with orange tablecloths with lighted floating candles and greenery on top of glass mirrors. A ceramic place and napkin holder was made specifically by the groom’s grandmother, Mary Goode. The toasting glasses had hearts interlocking with matching knife and cake server.
The cake was a three-tier square cake with orange and white details; with rings, a bride and groom topper and orange and white roses. There were orange tea light candles setting around the bottom of the cake. There was a set of stairs on each side and at the bottom of each side was a ceramic bride and groom.
Hair and makeup was done my family member Allison McCormack.
Entertainment was by Abe One DJ’s from Charleston, W.Va.
The food was provided by the groom’s grandmother, Mary, aunt Lorrie and cousin Benton.
A bachelorette party was given for the bride by her bridal attendants and the groom’s mother and family member Allison McCormack.
A bachelor’s party was given by the groom’s father and groomsmen.
The bride is a 2006 graduate of Covington High School and is currently attending Liberty University Online, majoring in business management and human resources.
The groom attended Alleghany High School and is employed at Rent-A-Center in Covington.
A honeymoon followed and the couple is residing in Covington with their daughter and son.
