Chargers Girls Soccer Falls in Regional Quarterfinals

HOT SPRINGS – Playing for the first time in nearly three weeks, Bath County came up short in a 3-2 loss to Galax in the combined Class 1, Region C and D quarterfinals in girls’ soccer on Monday in Hot Springs.

Junior Laci Ryder and sophomore Samantha Horne each scored a goal for the Chargers in the team’s quarterfinal loss to the Maroon Tides. BCHS attempted five shots on goal.

Sophomore Kenley Smith led the way defensively with six steals, while senior Samantha Woodson had five. 

In her final high school game, senior goalkeeper Zoey Jenkins had a 21-save performance. Jenkins finished the season with 229 total saves.

Bath County finished their season with an overall record of 2–11-1.
