HOT SPRINGS – A third straight win was not in the books last Monday when Auburn came to town and picked up a 7-2 victory over Bath County in a non-district varsity boys soccer contest in Hot Springs.

Six different Eagles players scored goals as the team rolled past the Chargers for a second time this season. AHS had previously defeated BCHS 4-2 in Riner back on March 25th.

Sophomore Jared Bradley led the way for Auburn with a 2-goal performance.

Bath County had opportunities at the nets. The team managed two goals in seven opportunities. Dustin Woods and Luke Turner provided the offense for the Chargers as they each scored a goal. Noah Bolling had one assist.

The defense from BCHS tried to keep up with the high-octane offense of AHS. The Chargers finished with 24 steals, while Braiden Mabe recorded a team-high six steals.

Despite giving up the seven goals to his opponent, senior goalkeeper Frankie DeBoe had 12 saves in the loss.

Fellow senior Andrew Turner, who was coming off of a five-goal week last week, was 0-for-2 with shots on goal in the loss against Auburn. Turner did have steals and two corner kicks.

The loss had dropped the Chargers to 4-6 overall.
