Dear Editor,
Hello! First off, with absolute certainty and 100 percent of my heart, I want to wish the American people well in this great time of need.
The Coronavirus has put a great hold on things. I do honestly feel remorse for everyone at times like this.
Families everywhere, schools, sports and everyone else going through hard times.
The lives it has taken have been a tremendous loss. It is and always will be a heartbreaking event.
Then we have the world trade war, which has yet to cost many lives, although it has been, and if action is not taken, will be everlasting. Which I?honestly believe is or may be the cause of everything, including the spread of the Coronavirus.
When is it going to end? More important, the question is when is someone going to step up?
Be men, and help me put a halt on this entire pandemic we have going on in the United States of America at this given time.
Not only are we at war with other countries, we’re at war within ourselves. How can we win a war when we are at battle within our own hearts?
That comment and honestly this entire letter should be addressed to the entire sports nation.
Think about the women and children. More importantly, we must do away with the greed, humble our hearts, ease our minds, cease the thought of the profit and think about the children.
Mark my words, this situation hasn’t even gotten bad yet. It’s terrible, but as men, as the American people, if we don’t step up, our country will never be able to recover from this.
Some people will say, “We must move on.” Impossible. That is not how our forefathers founded this nation.
I refer to them as problem solvers and not just great Americans who just move on.
We must form the solution, solve the problem and rebuild this nation.
We are builders at heart. That is what Americans do. We build countries, we build families and we build friendships.
This nation that we did build has been put through so much.
No more coverups! Let’s rebuild this entire nation together as one, as a family, as the United States of America!
God bless the U.S.A.
Sincerely,
Eric Matthew Banker

Dear Editor,
On April 29, I was going south on Alleghany Avenue in Covington when a low tire air warning light came on my auto dashboard. I pulled over to check it out.
Two young men with weed eaters were clearing weeds adjacent to the sidewalk.
I?am an 80-year-old man starting to change a tire, when the two young men took over the tire change very properly with skill and grace.
Meanwhile, I took a “thank you” cash bill out of my wallet to go with my expression of appreciation to these two young gentlemen. They immediately walked away and refused my offer.
As I drove away, I was so aware of how fortunate we are to live in an area where young men are gracious gentlemen.
Sincerely,
John B. Mitchell Sr.
