WARM SPRINGS — Bath County law enforcement officials recently received goody bags from an anonymous donor as a show of appreciation for their efforts.
A Thirty-One representative provided the bags that were filled with candies and other goodies and distributed to sheriff’s office personnel, Virginia State Police officers and dispatchers.
The gifts were an expression of “saying thank you, we’ve got your back,” Sheriff Robert Plecker said.
Plecker said his office often receives tokens of appreciation such as food and monetary contributions. He said a local resident recently flew to Roanoke and brought back doughnuts to his officers.
During a time when law enforcement has been negatively portrayed in some circles across the country, Plecker said these signs of support help keep morale high among his officers.
“We’re going to keep doing what we do,” Plecker said.
