Alleghany XC Girls Win Spartan Invitational, Boys Place Second

FAIRLEA, WV- Cross-Country runners from all over made their way to Fairlea, WV to Greenbrier East High School on Saturday, Sept. 30 for the Spartan Invitational. As always, the Alleghany Cougars XC boys’ and girls’ teams made incredible showings. The boys’ finished second overall (55 points) and the Alleghany girls took home first place (21 points) in the 5000-meter run with Kiera Lowman picking up another first place finish, and Nevaeh Wills, Faith Barron, Hannah Hipes and Macyn Cash all placing in the top 10.

The meet went all over from the free fair parking lot towards the fairgrounds and finished at the Greenbrier East football field halfway down the track.

The final finishers are as follows:

BOYS:

13. Evan Bishop- 18:32.40

14. Trevor Jonas- 18:33.90

21. Nick Powell- 19:20.70

24. Josh Anglin- 19:48.40

34. James Ross- 20:34.10

38. Calvin Craft- 20:54.30

48. Ryan Tucker- 22:20.90

1. Kiera Lowman- 17:56.90

5. Faith Barron- 20:40.90

8. Hannah Hipes- 21:07.70

9. Macyn Cash- 21:45.20
