STAUNTON – The Staunton Braves of the Valley Baseball League (VBL) recently made several new additions to their roster with one being tied to the Alleghany Highlands.

Recent 2023 Alleghany High School graduate and former member of the Alleghany Mountaineers baseball team, Halen Lowman was among the additions to the VBL Braves.

During the 2023 VHSL baseball season, Lowman helped guide Alleghany 20-3 overall record as the team went on to win district and regional championships, as well as a trip to the state semifinals.

Lowman was tied with Hunter DePriest for the most wins on the mound with seven, while leading the team with an outstanding 1.30 ERA, and struck out 47.

On Sunday, July 16th, Lowman will make his debut with Staunton. The Braves are 11-20 on the season and have 12 regular season games to go with nine of them being at home.

The Braves plays at Gypsy Hill Park in Staunton.
