Lily Kimberlin, age 54, died Friday, August 28th, with her family by her side at her home in Covington, VA.
Lily was born February 22, 1966 in Alleghany County to Mary Campbell Lipscomb and the late Kenneth Earl Lipscomb.
She was a 1984 graduate of Covington High School.  Lily was an avid reader and animal lover and leaves behind many beloved pets.  She loved to be outdoors and spent many hours walking the Jackson River trails with her family and friends.  She was a housewife who homeschooled both her children from kindergarten through graduation while making a beautiful home for her family and pets.
Lily is survived by her husband of 27 years, Christopher Lee Kimberlin, two daughters, Kayla and Anna Kimberlin, her mother, Mary Lipscomb, her sister, Tina Kemper and husband, Jamie of Roanoke and many nieces and nephews.  Also, her aunts, Betty Morgan, Ethel Smith, Ruth Fix, and Juanita Montgomery.  We would like to send a special thank you to the Kimberlin family, especially Jenna, Leisa, Abigail, and Norman, her cousin Mary Rogers for fulfilling Lily’s wish to get flowers while she was still with us and the many hours she spent by her side and her aunt Juanita and cousin Steven Montgomery who rarely left her bedside these past few weeks making her happy and keeping her company. Lily wanted to spend her last weeks surrounded by friends and family and thanks to these people and many others including her friend, Denise Bennett and her cousin, Gary Morgan and his wife, Pam she got her last wish.
In keeping with Lily’s wishes she has been cremated.  An informal memorial service is being planned for Saturday, September 5, 2020 at the River Rock picnic shelter from 11:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M.
Arrangements are being handled by Loving Funeral Home; www.lovingfuneralhome1913.com.
