NARROWS, VA – For the fourth time this season the Narrows Green Waves scored 20 or more runs following an outstanding 33-1 Pioneer District victory over the Covington Cougars on Tuesday.

An 11-run first inning really set the pace of the game for the Green Waves who picked up their 16th win of the season. The team would have a second 11-run inning in the third inning which at that point the game well out of reach at 28-0.

Already ahead 1-0 in the bottom of the first inning following an RBI single from Carson Crigger. One batter later, Aiden McGlothlin really got the offense rolling as he crushed a first-pitch fastball over the fence in deep center field for a three-run home run. A. McGlothlin finished with a game-high seven RBI’s, including two home runs. His second home run came in the bottom of the second inning. It was a two-run blast over the fence in the left field.

Max McGlothlin and Mason Croskey each had four-RBI days, while Sam Albert added three RBI’s, as well as Crigger and Reed Perdue who each had a pair of runs batted in. Crigger picked up the win on the mound as he tossed three perfect innings where he struck out four.

The Cougars settled for just the one hit in the game. Ethan Martin had the team’s only hit which came in the top of the fourth inning on an RBI single. The rest of the lineup was shut down. Crigger picked up the win after tossing three perfect innings where he also struck out four. Dylan Williams was charged with the loss after giving up 17 runs (eight earned) on eight hits.
