EMHS downs CHS with big first half
COVINGTON, VA – A four-score first half was enough for the Eastern Montgomery Mustangs (6-3-1/5-1-1) to ease past the Covington Cougars (3-8/2-3) on Thursday following a 6-2 victory at the Jackson River Sports Complex.
Jose Mejia led the Mustangs with a two-goal performance to help lead the team past the Cougars. Meanwhile, Osman Amaya, Jesse Boston, Talan Bruce, and Alec Enkins each provided the team with one goal.
Jesus Reyes knocked in through the nets both goals for the Cougars. On the defensive side of the ball, Dean Anderson led the team with 13 steals.
Despite giving up six goals, Nicholas Lugar did record 13 saves.
