CLIFTON FORGE, Va. (VR) – On April 10 at approximately 3:52 p.m., Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the Alleghany Highlands Drug Task Force, executed a search warrant at Leo Douglas Bennett’s residence on Ross Lane in Clifton Forge.
During the search, approximately 40.29 grams of methamphetamine, one assault rifle, one hunting rifle, one shotgun, two semiautomatic pistols, approximately 913 rounds of ammunition, six glass smoking devices with residue, hypodermic needles and digital scales were located.
Other suspected controlled substances were seized which will be sent to the forensics lab for a drug analysis.
Bennett was arrested for possession of controlled substances with the intent to distribute methamphetamine, felon in possession of firearms and ammunition and unlawfully possessing a controlled substance while in possession of a firearm.
Other charges are pending.
