ELLISTON, VA – The Eastern Montgomery Mustangs (6-2/4-0) remained unbeaten in Pioneer District play on Tuesday following an 8-0 shutout home victory over the Covington Cougars (1-6/1-2).
Jesse Boston knocked in a game-high three goals to lead the Mustangs past the Cougars. Talon Bruce, and Osman Amaya each added two goals, while Jon Ruiz had one goal. Goalkeeper Zack Craighead finished the game with eight saves.
Benjamin Moss led the Cougars with four shots on goal, while Dylan Pommert had two. Pommert also led the team with a team-high eight steals. Dean Anderson was second on the team with four steals. Meanwhile, Nicholas Lugar had four saves.
The Cougars travel on Thursday to Narrows for a district matchup with the Green Waves.
