Turner Stands Out at CHS District track meet

COVINGTON, VA – The Covington Cougars track team hosted a Pioneer District meet this past Wednesday at the CHS track. 

 Purcel Turner finished second in both the boys long and high jumps. In the long jump, Turner finished with a jump of 18-10, while in the high jump, Turner finished with a 5’4.

 Jakara Heighter, who competed in four events for the girls last week, won the 200 meter dash with a time of 28.47, Meanwhile, Sara Akerson placed first in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 19.47

 The Cougars track team along with the other Pioneer District teams will next compete at Giles High School on April 19th
