HOT SPRINGS, Va. – Following back-to-back losses to open their season, the Bath County Chargers (2-2/1-1) boys soccer team have gained steam with back-to-back wins.

Their win-streak began with a non-district victory over rival the Alleghany Mountaineers on Thursday, March 30, and a Pioneer District victory over the Narrows Green Wave on Monday. Both victories were home wins for the Chargers.

Last Thursday, the Chargers edged past the Mountaineers with a 1-0 victory. Caiden Offer made his only attempted goal shot, as he put it through the net for the game’s only goal. Meanwhile, Frankie DeBoe was dominant as goalkeeper. DeBoe finished with 17 saves, including a game-tying save on an Aly Jua’rez penalty kick with under 10 minutes left in the game. Isaac Gwin had a team-high four steals in the win.

In their win on Monday over the Green Waves, the Chargers put eight goals in an 8-2 win. Andrew Turner led all scorers with a game-high four goals in the win, along with two assists. Offer had two goals for the Chargers, while Braiden Made and Dustin Woods each had added a goal. DeBoe made 10 saves. The Charges scored four goals in each half.

The team will look to keep their win-streak going on Wednesday with a trip to Covington to play against the Cougars.
