Miss Thomas Plans Community Party
Community recreation has been establishing itself in different forms during the past month. The formation of one organization seems to call for another, so that the needs of the community may be satisfied. Large groups of young people have formed a Hiker’s Club, and during the fall days have enjoyed tramps through the woods and meals cooked outdoors. There is a Girls’ Scout troop as well as boys now.

Snark Missile Is Fired From Florida Range
The Pentagon has disclosed the test firing of an intercontinental guided missile- the Snark- at the Cape Canaveral, Fla., range. In an announcement last night, the Defense Department reported the firing but gave no details.

Candidates Await Return
Their politicking done, Democrat Richard J. Davis and Republican Paul S. Trible Jr. waited today for a predicted 1.3 million Virginia voters to decide which candidate they will send to the U.S. Senate. Each candidate predicted Monday he would win in a close race. A breakfast was held Saturday morning at an area restaurant for the Alleghany-Clifton Forge-Covington Democrats.

Bath Claims Tourney Title
