Clifton Forge, Va. (VR) – Executive Director of The Historic Masonic Theatre, Justin Reiter reports, “We are very excited to announce our upcoming Fall Season at The Historic Masonic Theatre. We are also continuing our movie matinee series and our movie musical series through the fall.”
“In October the theatre will present the first show in our new Travelogue Series, where film maker Rick Ray will take you on a journey to Israel, Jordon, Lebanon and Turkey on Saturday October 1 at 2:00pm. The Travelogue Series is presented in beautiful 4K media.”
Promised Land-Travelogue Series. Meet award-winning cinematographer, writer, editor and director, Rick Ray. He has traveled the world to capture images of its people and cultures. Travel with Rick to Israel, Jordon, Lebanon and Turkey on October 1, 2022 at 2:00 pm.
Also, on October 1, at 7:30 p.m., four-time Inspirational Country Artist of the year, Shellem Cline will perform on The Masonic Theatre stage.
Mark your calendars for an evening with four-time inspirational Country Artist of the year, Shellem Cline. Laughter, Music, encouragement and inspirational stories are all part of Shellem Cline’s presentation.
The next fall performer is chart-topping bluegrass musician Irene Keeley on October 14 at 7:30pm. Irene’s mix of bluegrass, country and Americana appeals to music lovers across all genres. Irene’s current single ”Lonely” reached number one on Bluegrass Today’s Single Radio Chart in April. Don’t miss one of America’s most beloved traditional music story-tellers.
On November 18 at 7:30 the hilarious and fun Magic Duel will perform. Play along as first-rate competitors Mark Phillips and Ryan Phillips battle for the title of Best Magician in The Magic Duel. The show is full of seriously funny magic that will fool you. It involves the audience from start to finish. At the end of the amazing night out, the audience votes for the contest winner!
Next in November the theatre will present Theatre for Young Audience’s edition of The Lighting Thief as part of the Masonic Family Series on November 19 at 7:30 p.m. Perfect entertainment for the family, mythological monsters and the gods of Mount Olympus seem to be walking straight out of the pages of Percy’s Greek mythology textbook and into his life. Worse, he’s angered a few of them. Zeus’s master lightning bolt has been stolen, and Percy is the prime suspect! The production is suitable for ages seven and up. The Masonic Family Series is generously sponsored by Highlands Community Bank.
Also in November, the theatre will present the Southwest Virginia Ballet on November 19 at 7:30pm. They will be performing TIES, an original full-length ballet about the railroad history, and its influence on immigration to our area. Artistic Director, Pedro Szalay, created TIES, with original music by David Austin.
December brings more travel with a Guatemalan Travelogue, and Christmas tunes with the legendary Jimmy Fortune!

The Jimmy Fortune Christmas Show on December 9 at 7:30 p.m. will put you in the holiday spirit. “We have had so many people ask us to bring Jimmy Fortune to The Masonic, so that is exactly what we did,” said executive director, Justin Reiter. Jimmy Fortune will be bringing his band for a Christmas Show like no other to celebrate the season. Jimmy toured, sang and performed with the legendary Statler Brothers for 21 years.
In addition to our Fall Season events, our free Movies@theMasonic will continue each Sunday at 3:00 p.m. generously sponsored by First Citizens Bank and Charlie Obaugh Auto Group.
