CLIFTON FORGE, VA (VR) – It is the last week to view “Friends Old and New,” an exhibit of paintings by local artist Henrietta Crandall, one of the founders of Clifton Forge School of the Arts.

Crandall’s paintings are known for their lush colors, humorous themes, and celebration of the female form.

This collection of works is a distillation of Crandall’s unique vision and includes work created early in her career as well as her most recent painting titled “Peace for Ukraine,” created in the spring of this year.

“A signature work, ‘Mother Nature’ is a joyful presence in the School’s reception area as well,” notes Helen Kostel, another founder of Clifton Forge School of the Arts and the School’s exhibit coordinator.

Though Crandall’s paintings are not for sale, cards printed with a selection of her works are available for purchase at the School.

The last day to view this exhibit is Thursday, August 25. The School’s regular hours are Tuesday through Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

A new exhibit featuring works by artist A.E. Reed will be open to the public from September 2 and continue through October 28 in the School of the Arts Gallery. The public is invited to meet the artist at an opening reception on Friday, September 2, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Works will be for sale.

Reed will be offering collage workshops on Saturday, September 3, 2022. A session for children will be from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., and the session offered to teens is from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Registration is open on the School’s website: cfsota.org

The School of the Arts, located at 518 Church Street in Clifton Forge, is pleased to present these exhibitions free of charge. The Gallery is open to the public during the School’s regular business hours, with the exception of times the space is used for a class or event.

For more information, contact the School by phone or email: 540-862-7275 or cfsota@lumos.net.
