The accolades keep on coming for the Alleghany Lady Mounties lefty sharp-shooter, Macyn Cash, who was named to the VHSL Class 2 Girls All-State Basketball Second Team.
Last week, Cash, was one of three Lady Mounties to be selected to the Three Rivers All-District Team (2nd Team), as well as the All-Region Team (1st Team).
Of the 16 players selected between the first and second team, the Three Rivers District, had just three players on the teams; Laney Cline, Radford (1st Team), Destiny Harmon., Floyd County (2nd Team), and Cash, Alleghany (2nd Team).
Not only was Cash one of three Three Rivers District players selected to the All-State teams, she was also, one of three sophomores selected of the 16 players. 12 players were upper-class, while their was one freshman selected, Emmah McAmis, Central-Wise. Central-Wise eliminated the Lady Mounties in the quarterfinals of the state tournament, while going on to win the state title.
The sky is the limit for Cash. With her junior and senior years ahead, Cash, is only going to keep growing and getting better.
