The body of Covington Police Officer Caleb Ogilvie was escorted from the Medical Examiner’s Office in Roanoke to the Nicely Funeral Home in Clifton Forge, VA, on Tuesday afternoon March 15, 2022.

The officer was killed in the line of duty after responding to an altercation between Toney S. Poulston Jr. and his stepfather, Randall Lee Paxton at Covington Farm & Fuel gas station on Alleghany Ave. Three people were left dead from the incident which occurred at 4:30 pm Monday night.

A Go Fund Me campaign has been set up for his family and states: “Caleb Ogilvie lost his life in the line of duty March 14, 2022, leaving behind his wife and two young daughters. He was an amazing father, husband and friend. He spent his life serving his country as a Marine and Law Enforcement Officer. Any financial help will go towards funeral expenses and bills while they try to figure out what to do next. Anything is appreciated. Thank you for the prayers, thoughts, and donations.”

A funeral service is currently scheduled to be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 12:00 Noon in the Convocation Center of Dabney S. Lancaster Community College, Clifton Forge.
