Gary Alvin Fisher, 68, of 548 W. Jackson St., died Wednesday, December 1, 2021, in Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Fisher was born April 9, 1953, in Alleghany County a son of the late Marshall B. and Esther Gaines Fisher.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Ann Nobs Fisher in 2019; a daughter Stephanie Fisher; two sisters, Virginia Tingler and Shirley Rodgers; and two brothers, Marshall Fisher and William Fisher.
In 2019 he retired after more than 30 years from WestRock. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church and was a retired member of the Covington First Aid as well as a CPR instructor. He was an avid golfer.
Surviving are four sons: Brandon Fisher and wife Desiree of Cumberland, MD, Luke Fisher of Covington, Justin Wagner and wife Michele of Roanoke, and Tim Wagner and wife Jess of Blue Ridge; two granddaughters Katelynn and Hannah Wagner; a grandson Max Wagner; a sister Peggy Ruble of Low Moor; three brothers Alfred Fisher and wife Mary of Louisville, KY, Rev. Michael Fisher and wife Christine of Low Moor and Roger Tucker of Covington; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at 1 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church with Pastor Andrew Belanger and the Rev. Michael Fisher officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Faith Baptist Church
The interment will be held at Alleghany Memorial Park.
