Covington City Council will meet today for a work session at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at city hall.
Council will consider individuals to be nominated for appointment to the Board of Zoning Appeals. The appointment will be made by the circuit court judge.
Items to be considered for the regular meeting on Nov. 9 will include:
— A resolution approving the city’s participation in a proposed opioid settlement with McKesson, Cardinal Health.
— A reappropriations resolution for assistance to firefighters from a Homeland Security grant in the amount of $65,000.
— A resolution to appoint a building official.
— A resolution authorizing an application for a local emergency management performance grant in the amount of $18,692.
— A resolution authorizing an annual application to the Covington Division of Police for the Walmart Community Grant Program.
— A resolution to waive the formal bid process and authorize the city manager to enter into a contract for the lease of vehicles foe the police department through Enterprise Fleet Management.
— A resolution declaring a police vehicle as surplus.
— A resolution authorizing an annual grant application to the PSAP Grant Program.
There will be a closed session to discuss legal matters pertaining to termination of a service agreement with CHA and tax refund request.
