The Alleghany Mountaineer girls soccer team made school history on Monday, May 24th.
In a home non-conference game, the Mountaineers defeated Nelson County 5-1.
The win pushed AHS record to 6-1-1 and clinched the schools program its first winning season in school history. The program started in 1998.
Junior Kinley Eggleston led the way for AHS with three goals, one assist, and one steal.
AHS put away Nelson early after four first half goals. Each team added a goal in the second half.
Playing all 80 minutes, junior goalie, Emma Williams, had nine saves in the win.
Junior Carlee Lanford contributed with two goals.
The Mountaineers had 47 steals in the win. The freshman led the way in steals as BreAnna Phillips had a game high 10 steals while Abby Williams contributed with nine steals.
Next up for AHS is a home game vs the 5-1-1 James River Knights.
The Knights are undefeated on the road this season.
