TAZEWELL (AP) – The Tazewell County schools are considering a policy clearly defining bullying and how it will be punished.
The Bluefield Daily Telegraph reports that the school board will take up the anti-bullying policy when it meets Monday.
Schools Superintendent Bre-nda Lawson said the schools already have such a policy in the student code of conduct.
Still, she said, school officials want to make those policies clear for all schools and staff in the county.
The bottom line, Lawson said, is the schools want to clearly state that bullying will not be tolerated and what the consequences will be for students who bully.
