Mr. and Mrs. Richard Allen Clark of Troutville announce the engagement of their daughter Julie Ann to Mr. Brett Michael Carpenter son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur James Carpenter Jr. of Covington.
Julie is a 2003 graduate of Lord Botetourt High School and graduated from the Radford University School of Nursing in 2007. She is employed as a registered nurse at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Salem.
Brett is a 2004 graduate of Alleghany High School and graduated from the Virginia Military Institute with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2008. He then graduated from Dabney S. Lancaster Community College in 2011 with an Associate Degree in Nursing. He is employed as a registered nurse at Lewis Gale Hospital-Alleghany in Low Moor.
Julie is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Preston E. Clark and Jean F. Rieley and the late E. Lylburn Rieley, all of Troutville.
Brett is the grandson of Florence B. Lindsay of Hot Springs, and the late Wilbur J. Carpenter, Charles E. Lindsay and Mr. and Mrs. Marshall L. Wolfe.
A September wedding is planned.
