Amy Elizabeth Bartley and Jamie Brian Bazzrea were united in marriage on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill Hartsfield officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Michael Bartley of Covington and Lisa Bartley of Lexington. She is the granddaughter of Gene and Rosa Lee Bartley of Covington, and James and Helen Robertson, and Mary Lynn Riner, all of Hot Springs.
The groom is the son of Barbara Bazzrea of Covington and the late Stanley H. Bazzrea. The groom is the grandson of Leroy Whitmore of Covington and the late Helen Whitmore, and Dallas and Blanche Bazzrea. A candle was lit in honor of the groom’s late father.
The bride was escorted to the altar by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
Carrie Vest Pettus of Christiansburg, friend of the bride, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Emily Bartley of Covington, cousin of the bride; Ashley Woolfolk of Harrisonburg, Tiffany Turner Johnson of Fredericksburg and Kameron Tucker of Virginia Beach, all friends of the bride.
Emily Loving, Sarah Loving and Katie Boggs served as junior bridesmaids, all nieces of the groom. Kaylin Boggs, niece of the groom, served as flower girl.
Best man to the groom was Lindy Bazzrea, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were A.J. Wolfe of Covington, Phillip Caldwell of Lorton, Donnie Underwood of Harrisonburg and Chris Skirvin of Nashville, Tenn., all friends of the groom and Michael R. Bartley, brother of the bride.
Ushers were Bert Siebenkittel of Covington, David Dobson of Covington and Dustin Caldwell of Roanoke, all friends of the groom. Zac Wolfe served as ring bearer.
Joanne Hayslett played the piano during the ceremony.
Amanda Harris, friend of the bride, served as wedding planner. Hannah Robertson, Monja Robertson and Rachel Robertson, cousins of the bride, served as guest book attendants.
A reception was held at Meadow Lane in Warm Springs.
The couple resides in Covington.
