Daryl Wayne “Chipper” Craft, 67, of Hope Mills, N.C., died Thursday, January 23, 2014.
He was born February 1, 1946, in Alleghany County to the late Paul Wilson and Ruby Davis Craft.
He is survived by a daughter, Ursala “Missy” Bell and a son, Daryl Craft Jr., of Fayetteville, N.C. and six grandchildren. He is also survived by his longtime companion, Alice Slade, of Hope Mills, N.C.; brothers Harold Dean “Sonny” Craft of Eagle Rock, Paul Wilson “Luke” Craft of Covington; and a sister, Judy Craft Bell of Clifton Forge.
Chipper served his country in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in Germany. He was a draftsman by trade. Chipper was an avid sports fan. He never met a stranger and he was a wonderful storyteller.
Chipper will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
