There is no charge to list upcoming events, however, other than ongoing meetings, items are limited to no more than two weeks before the event.
Church items are limited to benefits, dinners and yard or bake sales and are published only during the week of the event.
Non-profit group yard and bake sales and family reunions and open houses are also published only during the week the event is being held.

Masonic Meeting: The 23rd Masonic District will hold an officer’s school of instruction provided by District Education Officer Bill Parks. It will be held at the Clifton Forge Masonic Lodge at 6 p.m. Officers, potential officers, lodges and districts are being asked to attend.
Uniform and Shoe Sale: LewisGale Hospital-Alleghany Volunteers will be holding a uniform and shoe sale Thursday and Friday in Conference Room B of the hospital. Proceeds will benefit projects in the hospital and the community.

Spaghetti Dinner: Clifton Forge Masonic Lodge No. 166, District 23, 725 Commercial Ave. will hold a spaghetti dinner from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Adults $7, children half price, eat in or carry out. Spaghetti, garlic bread, salad, dessert and drink. Funds raised will be used to support the Masonic Child Identification Program.
Spring Fling: A Spring Fling will be held at the Rivermont School, 331 W. Main St., Covington, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. For more information, or to become a vendor, contact Karla Haynes at 965-6388. The indoor arts and crafts fair includes more than 30 vendors.

Alleghany Historical Society: The Covington C&O Depot on Maple Avenue has exhibits on local history on display at the C&O Depot on Maple Avenue in Covington. There is no admission charge. Hours are Tuesday through Friday, noon to 4 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m.
Diabetes Support Group: The Diabetes Support Group meets the first Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Alleghany Regional Hospital Cafeteria.
