October is Clergy Appreciation Month.
Bishop Ted Fortenberry and wife, Darleen, are the senior pastor and first lady of the Cornerstone Church in Covington.
Throughout the month, the Fortenberrys will be honored for their tireless committment to their congregation and community.
Pastor Fortenberry was licensed as a lay minister in 1976, he has served as an associate pastor, state evangelist, and pastor.
He was ordained as a bishop by the Church of God of Prophecy in 1998.
Fortenberry is originally from California. He made his home in Virginia in 1992. He and Darleen were married on Nov. 24, 1977.
They will celebrate 37 years of marriage in November.
The Fortenberrys have three children, two daughters, Lauren Renee, and Kristen Lee and husband, Steve Pierce of Pennsyl-vania; one son, Brent; and one granddaughter, Cam-den.
The Fortenberrys have traveled the country sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. In February of this year, they made Covington their home to lead Cornerstone Church and serve the Alleghany County area.
Everyone is encouraged to join the Fortenberrys for a sacrifical education, spiritual teaching, and wise counsel.
