Jared Ryan Jenkins has been appointed an assistant commonwealth’s attorney for Alleghany County and the city of Covington.
He is a graduate of Cameron University, North Carolina State University and the University of Virginia School of Law.
Jenkins previously worked in New York, N.Y.
Jared is the son of Danny Ray and Kathy Unroe Jenkins, formerly of Alleghany County. He is the grandson of Nancy Weade Unroe and the late Garland “Boo” Unroe of Iron Gate and the late George T. and Genoa Wallace Jenkins of Alleghany County.
Jenkins assumed his duties on Dec. 1, 2014. He replaces Eric Branscom, who has been named acting commonwealth’s attorney of Floyd County.
