Several pieces of artwork by Catherine Quinn of Covington are currently on display at Charles P. Jones Memorial Library in Covington.
Quinn holds a associate’s degree in art from Southern Seminary, but chose another profession after realizing it was hard to make a living in the art field.
She revisited her artistic endeavors in 1997, and found encouragement after showing her artwork to several friends, including Kyle Keyser and the late Mary Ervine.
“People ask me what inspires me now to draw,” said Quinn. “I really do not know other than I just observe the shapes and colors in my everyday life. It is a type of meditation for me, I try to draw something almost every day.”
This is the first time her artwork has been on display at the library.
