STAUNTON, Va. (VR) – The Alleghany JV golf team finished second Thursday at Gypsy Hill Park with a team score of 202.
Landon Wells led the Cougars with a 45, followed by Caleb Fisher at 49 and Sawyer Knighton at 51. Mason Knighton rounded out the team score with a 57.
Staunton won the match with a 188. Cael Pence posted the low round of the day with a 43, while Hudson Rowe shot 45 and Michael Russell finished with a 48. Jeshurun Gleadow carded a 52, Hayden Burruss shot 57 and James Russell finished at 60.
Ridgeview Christian finished with a 212. Judah Nice led the team with a 46, followed by Silas Nice at 51, Caleb Trump at 52 and Carter Conner at 63.
Alleghany’s four counting scores totaled 202, placing the Cougars 14 strokes behind Staunton and 10 strokes ahead of Ridgeview Christian.
