Lee Wayne Holloway, 75, of 310 S. Main Street, died Thursday, July 6, 2017, at LewisGale Medical Center in Salem.
He was born April 13, 1942, in Covington, a son of the late Ralph N. and Elizabeth Davis Holloway.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy A. Sharp; and a brother, Sherman N. Holloway Sr.
Mr. Holloway served his country with United States Army.
He retired in 2009 as a trackman with CSX after 29 years of service.
He was a charter member of Concerned Christian Baptist Church where had served as a deacon, was a member of the men’s fellowship, adult choir and the nursing home ministries.
He was active in the Straight Street Ministries and was a member Watson High School Alumni.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Evangeline Graves Holloway of Covington; his three sons, Anthony Holloway, Rodney Holloway and Chatney Holloway, all of Covington; his daughter and one son-in-law, Nichole and Milton Jimson of Chesapeake; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Ronald and Angie Holloway of Covington; one sister, Connie Holloway of Covington; two aunts, Eleanor Tyler and Helen Holloway, both of Covington; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 11, at 2 p.m. in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. William O. Hickman III officiating.
Entombment will be in the Alleghany Memorial Park Mausoleum with graveside rites being conducted by the Curtis A. Smith Post No. 1033, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
The family will receive their friends Monday, July 10, from 6-8 p.m. at the Arritt Funeral Home.
