Charles Edward “Jim” Ailstock, 80, of Warm Springs, Virginia passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at Bath Community Hospital surrounded by family and friends.

He was born August 22, 1938 in Bath County, the son of the late Charles Peyton Ailstock and Emma Margurette Hise Ailstock.

Mr. Ailstock retired from the Homestead Resort with 55 years of service as a mechanic. He was a member of Chimney Run Church of the Brethren; was an avid mechanic, enjoyed cutting wood and spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Mary “Belle” Robertson Ailstock his wife of 56 years whom he married on November 4, 1961; children, Albert & wife Leeann Ailstock, Johnny & wife Cassie Ailstock, Don & wife Missy Ailstock, Patty & husband Terry Smith all of Warm Springs, Tiffany & husband Mark Myers of Hot Springs, Virginia; grandchildren, Christopher Ailstock, Ryan Ailstock, Ben Ailstock, Meaghan Ryder, MaKenna Ailstock, Sophie Ailstock, Cody Smith, Davey Smith, Hunter Myers, Caleb Myers, Hannah Myers, Samuel Myers and special granddaughter & care taker, Brett Lee Moyers; seven great grandchildren; two brothers, William P. Ailstock of Richmond, Virginia and John Pound & wife Linda of Warm Springs; a sister, Betty King of Richmond; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Mason Ailstock.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 31, 2018 at Chimney Run Church of the Brethren with Pastor Billy Robertson officiating.

Interment will be in the Robertson Family Cemetery at Chimney Run.

Pallbearers will be Cody Smith, Davey Smith, Christopher Ailstock, Ryan Ailstock, Jeffrey Hamilton, Jody Puffenbarger, James Woodzell, Jackie Liptrap, Jerry Lowry and Mark Wolfe.

The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to services from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the church.
