Weather Postpones Fourth of July Celebration to Sunday

CLIFTON FORGE, Va. (VR) - Despite extreme heat, crowds lined Main Street in Clifton Forge on Saturday, July 4, for the annual Stars and Stripes Parade. The parade featured Alleghany County Sheriff Kyle Moore, the Alleghany High School varsity cheerleaders, local fire and rescue units, the Alleghany Highlands VA250 float and numerous other entries as community members gathered to celebrate Independence Day. Crowds Brave Heat for Clifton Forge Stars and Stripes Parade

The 2026 Alleghany High School Softball Camp welcomed 48 campers as young athletes spent two days learning the fundamentals of the game. Despite the summer heat and humidity, campers brought great energy and enthusiasm throughout the event.
