COVINGTON,VA (VR) – Olde Town Covington, Inc. is proud to announce that it has officially
achieved full accreditation through the Virginia Main Street program and
Main Street America and is now one of only 838 nationally accredited
programs and 31 designated programs in Virginia in 2026.

This designation recognizes communities that demonstrate a strong
commitment to downtown revitalization through preservation-based
economic development, community engagement, business support, and
strategic planning. Accreditation is awarded to programs that successfully
meet rigorous standards in organization, promotion, design, and economic
vitality.

“Achieving full accreditation is a tremendous accomplishment for Olde
Town Covington, Inc and for our entire community,” said Kester Dingus,
Executive Director. “This recognition reflects the passion, vision, and
dedication of so many individuals who believe in the future of our downtown
and continue working to make it a vibrant place to live, work, shop, dine,
and gather.”

Over the past several years, Olde Town Covington, Inc, has focused on
initiatives including downtown beautification, business development, façade
improvements, public art, special events, and historic preservation efforts,
all aimed at creating a vibrant and welcoming downtown district.

“This achievement belongs to the entire community,” said Terri McClung,
President of Olde Town Covington, Inc. “Every volunteer hour, business
investment, event attendee, and person who supports downtown has
played a role in making this possible.”

The accreditation further positions Olde Town Covington, Inc to pursue
additional funding opportunities, technical assistance, training resources,
and partnerships that will continue to strengthen downtown Covington and
the surrounding community.
