STUARTS DRAFT, Va. (VR) – The Alleghany JV baseball team erased an early deficit with a three-run third inning but fell to Stuarts Draft 7-3 on the road.

Alleghany tied the game at 3-3 in the top of the third after Ben Skidmore delivered an RBI single and two runs scored on a Stuarts Draft error. Joel Bradshaw added an RBI groundout during the inning.

Stuarts Draft answered with four runs in the bottom half of the third to regain control. Anderson delivered a two-run double while Henderson added an RBI single.

Skidmore led Alleghany at the plate, finishing 3-for-4 with an RBI. Carson Cosby added a hit and reached base twice, while Bronson Shinault singled, walked and scored. Jace Cantrell also drew a walk and scored.

Bradshaw started on the mound and recorded four strikeouts. Skidmore pitched the final innings in relief and struck out five.

Alleghany stranded runners late after putting two aboard in the seventh inning before Stuarts Draft closed out the win.
