STAUNTON, Va. (VR) – Senior Addyson Neff was untouchable in the circle Thursday night, firing a perfect game with 14 strikeouts as Alleghany shut out Staunton 18-0.
No hits. No walks. No errors allowed to impact the line. Just pure dominance from start to finish.
Neff opened the game with three straight strikeouts and never let off the gas. She struck out the side multiple times and finished with 14 Ks across five innings, turning every Staunton at-bat into a losing battle.
While Neff controlled the circle, Alleghany’s offense blew the game open early and never slowed down. The Cougars posted a massive first inning surge, stacking hits, taking advantage of wild pitches, and forcing defensive miscues to build an early double-digit lead.
Kaylee Nicely, Ava Howard, Maddy Lowry, Brooklyn Taylor, Peyton Broughman, and Brianna Terrell all contributed at the plate as Alleghany kept the pressure constant. Extra-base hits and timely singles kept innings alive, and the lineup worked deep counts all night.
