CLIFTON FORGE — The 14th annual Walk of Legacy, in memory of the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and other leaders from the Civil Rights era, will take place Sunday at 3 p.m.
The event will begin at the Verge Street Bridge and end at the Historic Masonic Theatre’s Underground Lounge and Café.
Judge Onzlee Ware of Roanoke will be the guest keynote speaker for the event.
Judge Ware is the first African-American to become juvenile court judge for the 23rd Judicial District, which includes Roanoke, Roanoke County and Salem.
The program will also feature community leaders from local governing bodies.
The theme for the event is “Be the Face of Change.” The public is invited to attend.
This annual event is co-sponsored by CAYA (Come As You Are) community outreach, HOPE (Helping Other People Excel), and the McClinton Foundation.
The threat of inclement weather forced organizers of the Walk of Legacy to postpone the event in January.
It was originally scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 20, in downtown Clifton Forge.
