SALEM, Va. (VR) – Carter Nicely and Nick Powell each finished as state runner-up Saturday at the Salem Civic Center.

Powell placed second at 106 pounds, dropping the championship bout to Dylan Lulk of Skyline by an 81-0 decision.

Nicely earned second at 175 pounds, falling in the finals to Liam Johnson of Goochland, 13-3.

Both wrestlers capped strong tournament runs with podium finishes.
