10 Members Attend VFW Auxiliary May Meeting

A regular meeting of the VFW Auxiliary was called to order Thursday, May 16, by President Phyllis Givens, with 10 members present.
A roll call of officers found all of them present.
There were no petitions for membership.
Official communications was the general orders from the Department of Virginia.
The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read.
The treasurer’s report was given and will stand subject to audit.
Bill were then presented and voted on to be paid.
There was no unfinished business.
Under new business, the officers for the ensuing year were installed. This was led by past District President Midge Akers.
A motion was made and seconded to purchase a flag for a girl scout troop.
A love gift was given to the Department President.
Department Senior Vice President was reported to have a stroke.
With no further business, the meeting was closed to reopen Thursday, June 20.
