COVINGTON, Va. (VR) - Kids in colorful Easter attire filled Main Street on Saturday as Covington Parks and Recreation hosted its annual parade and egg hunt.
Wagons and bikes rolled through the route before the crowd gathered at City Park, where eggs were spread across the grounds for the hunt. Children quickly filled baskets as the event shifted into high gear.
The Easter Bunny posed for photos and handed out gifts, drawing steady lines throughout the afternoon.

Chester, VA (VR) – Ahead of National Energy Assistance Day on Monday, Feb. 2, Columbia Gas of Virginia is reminding customers who may need financial assistance with their energy bills or paying past-due balances that there are programs to help.

“Following that significant winter storm we just experienced in Virginia, it’s very likely that our customers used more natural gas than usual to stay safe and warm,” said Columbia Gas of Virginia President and Chief Operating Officer Jennifer Montague. “For those who may be falling behind on your energy bills, please contact us. We’ll work with you to explore the wide array of options available to help you stay connected and your natural gas services online.”

Expanded Payment Plans

Columbia Gas is offering an expanded number of flexible payment plans to help spread the balance due on natural gas bills across multiple months. We’ve made it easy to enroll in our three-, six-, nine- or 12-Month Basic Extended Payment Plans by calling us at 1-800-543-8911 or visiting www.columbiagasva.com/paymentplans.

Crisis – Emergency Energy Assistance

Crisis Assistance provides funds for customers in emergency situations and those who are in danger of losing their heat. It is administered by the Virginia Energy Assistance Program through the Department of Social Services. The program offers a maximum benefit of $200 for security deposit assistance and up to $410 for customers who may have past due account balances. Learn more by visiting commonhelp.virginia.gov/access/.

HeatShare

A special heating assistance program funded by our contributions and donations from our caring customers, HeatShare provides grants of up to $500 to low-income residential customers to pay off past-due bills or restore service. Administered by the Dollar Energy Fund, the Columbia Gas HeatShare program is available to eligible customers who have exhausted all other available energy assistance programs. Learn more by visiting dollarenergy.org/need-help/Virginia/.

Age and Income Qualifying Program

Qualifying customers can receive supplies to help save energy on water heating and home heating. Please contact our contract partner Community Housing Partners at 1-888-229-3714.
