LOW MOOR, Va. (VR) – Alleghany earned a 60-49 Shenandoah District win over Fort Defiance on Friday night at Alleghany High School. The Cougars placed four players in double figures. Talyn Elliott scored 16 points, while Jalen Raether, Des Jordan and Bubby Entsminger finished with 12 apiece. Raether, Brady May and Tucker Phillips each had seven rebounds.

Fort Defiance was led by John Hanger with 29 points, including eight three-pointers. The Indians shot 9-for-31 from beyond the arc.

Alleghany’s junior varsity won 68-29. Jackson Rickett had 15 points, Talin Raether added nine and Ayden Richardson scored eight. Braxton Dean led Fort with seven points.

The Cougars will host Salem on Monday night.
