Virginia State Police Investigating Fatal Crash in Alleghany County

ALLEGHANY COUNTY, Va. – Virginia State Police is investigating a single-vehicle crash, which resulted in a fatality. The crash occurred Tuesday (Jan 13) at 11:16 a.m. on eastbound Interstate 64, at the 1.1-mile-marker in Alleghany County.

A 2017 Subaru Crosstrek was traveling east lost control, crossed the median and the westbound travel lanes, then struck the guardrail.

The driver was identified as Billy Jack Camden, 91, of Covington, Va. Mr. Camden was wearing his seatbelt and was transported to Lewis Gale Alleghany Hospital where he later died.

The crash remains under investigation.
