Charlene Sue Fridley

Charlene Sue Fridley, age 69, of 9800 Rich Patch Road, Low Moor, Virginia died on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke.

Charlene was born on June 16, 1956 in Clifton Forge, Virginia to the late Ballard and Sarah Virginia Aldridge Fridley, and was a lifelong member of the Alleghany Highlands community. She was a wonderful cook and really enjoyed sharing her food with so many people. She was a member of Low Moor Presbyterian Church and will be remembered as one of the familiar faces at the Clifton Forge Kroger store, where she worked for many years.

In addition to her parents, Charlene was preceded in death by a brother, Ballard Leroy Fridley and a sister, Mary Fridley Freels.

She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Cheryl and Lanny Saville of Eagle Rock; three sons, Bobby Fridley and Allen Fridley, both of Low Moor, and Paul Fridley of Covington; an aunt, Joyce ‘Peachie’ Aldridge; three nieces, Staci Craft (Scott), Tara Myers (fiancée, Mark Fridley), and Anita Wolfe (Timmy); a nephew, Lanny ‘Tater’ Saville II (Kim); a host of great nieces and great nephews; and three extended family members that she raised as her own children, April Goad (C.J.), Bryan Harrison, and Anthony Harrison.

In keeping with her wishes, her body has been cremated.  A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2026 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Pastor Grover Stevens officiating, assisted by Reverend Lisa Marshall.  The family will visit with friends on Sunday afternoon from 1:00 PM until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Low Moor Presbyterian Church, 204 Old Church Road, Low Moor, VA  24457.
