Cougars Sweep Shenandoah District Tri-Match, Improve to 8-1

AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va. (VR) – Alleghany continued its strong run on the mat Wednesday, sweeping a Shenandoah District tri-match with wins over Rockbridge County and host Wilson Memorial at Wilson Memorial High School.

The Cougars opened the evening with a 45-26 victory over Rockbridge County before closing the night with a decisive 52-18 win against the Green Hornets. Nick Powell, Hayden Wills, Tristan Madison, Carter Nicely, Jayvon Myers, Parker Osborne and Ethan Shue all went 2-0 on the night, helping Alleghany control both duals from start to finish.

With the sweep, Alleghany improved to 8-1 in dual matches this season, now the Cougars will prepare for the Alleghany Duels this weekend.
