Boil Water Advisory to Consumers of The City of Covington LIFTED

COVINGTON, Va. (VR) – As of December 20, 2025, the Boil Water Advisory has been lifted for homes in The Water Treatment Plant of the City of Covington.

The Boil Water Advisory was issued on December 16, 2025, after service interruption and loss of water pressure to customers of The City of Covington
Water Treatment Plant.

A series of bacteriological samples were collected and sent to a state certified lab.

All samples collected on December 17th & 18th were absent of both total coliform and E. coli bacteria in the area where the Boil Water Advisory is currently being lifted.

Following flushing the service line and premise plumbing, residents can safely resume normal use of their tap water.
