WAYNESBORO, Va. (VR) – Alleghany left little doubt Tuesday night, controlling the game from the opening tip in a 73-40 Shenandoah District road win over Waynesboro. The unbeaten Cougars set the tone early with defensive pressure and balanced scoring, building a steady lead that never came under threat. Alleghany held Waynesboro in check throughout the first half and continued to extend the margin after the break. Junior guard Bubby Entsminger led all scorers with 20 points, consistently finding seams in the defense and finishing in transition as the Cougars pulled away. Waynesboro struggled to generate sustained offense against Alleghany’s defense, though Deonta Brown finished with a team-high 18 points for the Little Giants. With the decisive victory, Alleghany remains unbeaten in district play.
