LYNCHBURG, Va. (VR) – The Alleghany Cougars made the trip to Lynchburg over the weekend for the annual Flames Invitational — and they didn’t come home empty-handed. PRs fell, school records tumbled, and state marks were punched as the indoor season began to heat up. Cambria Ransom kicked things off with a strong showing in the 55-meter dash, posting a new personal record of 8.11. In the 300 meters, Maddox Wickline — already a state qualifier — and LC Christian each notched PRs of their own, keeping momentum rolling for the Cougars. The girls 4×200 squad stole the spotlight as they shattered the school record with a commanding performance on the track. Not to be outdone, the boys 4×400 team closed out the meet in statement fashion, breaking the school record and earning their spot at states.
